Ezan Alarm — Privacy Policy

📄 Introduction

Ezan Alarm (Salah Alarm) is a free mobile application built by Applendit Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our service. By using Ezan Alarm, you agree to the practices described below.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

📍 Location Data

Ezan Alarm requests access to your device's precise (GPS) and approximate location, even when the app is in the background or closed.

This data is used exclusively to:

• Determine your city and district for accurate, local prayer time calculations.
• Detect if you have moved to a new location so that prayer times can be refreshed automatically.

Location data is processed on-device and used only to query the Diyanet / Emushaf prayer time API. It is not stored on any server we control and is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary (see Third-Party Services below).

🔔 Notifications & Alarms

The app schedules local notifications for each daily prayer time using your device's alarm and notification system. These notifications are managed entirely on your device — no notification data is sent to external servers.

⚙️ Background Processing

Ezan Alarm uses a background task (WorkManager) that runs once daily — typically at 22:00 — to refresh prayer time data for the next day. This ensures your alarms are always accurate without requiring you to open the app.

The app also requests to be excluded from battery optimization (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS) so that alarms and background refresh tasks are not delayed or cancelled by the system.

💡 Advertising (Google AdMob)

Ezan Alarm displays interstitial banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may collect your device advertising ID and other device information to serve personalized ads.

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).

💾 Local Data Storage

All user preferences (alarm settings, selected sounds, language preference, last known location) are stored only on your device using SharedPreferences / Keychain. We do not operate a backend server that stores your personal data.

🔗 Third-Party Services

The app communicates with the following external services to provide its core features:

• Diyanet / Emushaf API — Prayer time data source (Turkey & International)
• AlAdhan API — Fallback prayer time source for international locations
• Google AdMob — In-app advertising
• Google Play Services — Location, notifications

These services may collect data as described in their own privacy policies.

👪 Children's Privacy

Ezan Alarm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

🔒 Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. Since all data is processed on-device and no personal data is stored on our servers, the risk surface is minimal. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
